Is the platform really free? What's the catch?
Yes — no subscription, no monthly fee, no setup charge. We earn 3.5% on ticket sales, paid by the attendees at checkout, which keeps this platform 100% free for you as the organizer. If your event sells zero tickets, everyone pays nothing.
Can I pass the fees on to buyers?
By default, the 3.5% platform fee and Stripe's processing fee are passed to buyers at checkout — meaning the organizer takes home the full face value of every ticket. You can also choose to absorb them if you want a cleaner buyer experience.
Can I get a free branded app?
Yes — events that do their ticketing through Dionysus can qualify for a free white-label app based on ticket volume. We don't publish a hard threshold because it varies by event type and structure, but multi-day festivals selling ~2,000+ tickets typically qualify. Book a call and we'll tell you in under 2 minutes. Otherwise the app is $5,000/yr.
Is there a contract?
No. There's no subscription to sign up for and nothing to cancel. You create an account, run your event, and a 3.5% fee is collected from ticket buyers when they purchase. That's the whole agreement.
What about free events with no ticket sales?
No tickets sold, no fee. You still get the full platform — unlimited events, check-in tools, website embeds, schedules, and admin access — at no cost.
How does Dionysus compare to other platforms on fees?
